CBI books top CW Games officials for Rs 50 cr fraud

CBI registered cases against two officials of the CW Games Organising Committee. Lalit Bhanot (Secretary-general,OC) and VK Verma (Director-genral,OC) are accused of buying sophisticated equipment called 'Time, Result and Scoring System' (TRS) at an inflated cost of  Rs 107 crore. CBI officials estimate the system should have cost just half as much.
CBI suspects that the tender requirements were tweaked in such a way that only one Swiss firm could fulfill the requirements.

Nissan Motor said on Sept. 20 that it is in talks with its Chinese partner Dongfeng Motor Group about sharing some of its cutting-edge electric car technology. The number three car maker in Japan was considering transferring its electric vehicle technology, such as lithium-ion battery know-how, to the companies' joint operations in China.

"There's no limit to technology we bring to China," Nissan chief executive Carlos Ghosn said in the central city of Zhengzhou, where the joint venture company Dongfeng Motor Co. has opened a new assembly plant.

Principle of Working :

Electric cars work on the principle of electric current generated from batteries. This electric current is transferred to the electric motor and is then converted into kinetic energy of the wheels.
The three main components of an electric car are as follows:

• An electric motor under the hood
• Controller that transfers electricity to the electric motor
• Rechargeable batteries that produce electric energy and pass it to the controller

I quote your words, "Whenever someone asks about my profession, I simply say that I help people quit their day jobs." What do you think would be the effect of this statement on entry level graduates, especially those who are looking for their first dream job?

The world as we know it has been designed around a system where you go to school, get good grades, get into a good university, and then try and get a job based on the degree you end up with. To many people, that's the only system they know. I was fortunate to have been able to making a living on the internet, and use my experience to help other people do the same, so I have found an alternative to the traditional model. This may be surprising to some, but you don't need a great education in order to make a lot of money.

Of course, I'm not advising anybody to drop all of their dreams and just attempt to make money online. Don't dismiss the idea though and perhaps consider spending some time in the internet world to see if you can make a side-income. Like me, you may just find yourself loving it.

Indian companies are back to agressive hiring

According to the annual American Express/CFO survey of senior financial executives of global companies, about 85 percent of companies in India are hiring or planning to hire new employees.

A quote from survey says, ” In general, respondents in India are more likely than their peers in other countries to say they expect their companies will begin hiring relatively soon — by third quarter of 2010.”

In this survey which was conducted in April, around 479 senior executives from across North America, Asia, Europe and Australia representing companies with revenues ranging from $500 million to $20 billion participated.

In India, which is the the world’s second-fastest growing major economy, nearly three-fourth of respondents observed that companies are raising capital expenditure this year with 89 percent have plans to increase business travel expenses.

Many Asian countries including India, Hing Kong and Singapore are optimistic about post recession phase and see prospects of good economic growth.In India, as we have already reported from time to time job opening of the majority of IT companies. The jobs are back not only in IT sector but companies from other sectors are also on a hiring spree.

 

Google will hire 300 engineers in India, more focus on cloud computing

Global Internet search giant Google Inc on Thursday announced plans to hire 300 people to double its engineering headcount in India and strengthen Hyderabad as its largest cloud computing research and development centre in the world.

Google plans to recruit 300 engineers in couple of years to increase its presence in India with focus on cloud computing. According to Peeyush Ranjan, head of engineering, Google India , 300 engineers were already working in Hyderabad and Bangalore on cloud computing.

According to Ranjan, Google already has 2,000 employees in India and the Hyderabad engineering centre will be core to its efforts to focus on cloud computing. While the engineering centre in Bangalore is working on cloud computing as well as search, ads, maps and news, the Hyderabad centre is focusing only on cloud computing.

He said, ” The work being done in these two centres are global in nature and the technologies they are developing are for the business globally.”

About Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is web-based processing, whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices such as smart phones on demand over the Internet.

Google already has cloud computing centres in Mountain View in California and New York but the Hyderabad centre is the largest in terms of the number of engineers working here.

Peeyush Ranjan says, ” India is a great market for cloud computing as it is the most price sensitive. Since cloud computing ensures efficiency and better utilization of resources, small and medium business are excited about it.”

Google has around three million customers in cloud computing globally. About 100,000 businesses in India are already using Google’s cloud computing technologies.

Infosys to hire 40,000, TCS to hire 50,000 in the ongoing fiscal

As growth returns to the software industry, major IT companies in India are stepping up their hiring plans for the next few quarters to meet the reviving demand in the US and European markets.

Infosys has announced plans of hiring 40,000 new employees in the ongoing fiscal, up from the earlier projection of 36,000.The largest software firm, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has revised its hiring plans to add 50,000 people this fiscal against earlier target of 30,000 persons.

According to chairman of Wipro, Azim Premji,”There was strong momentum in demand (during the September quarter)… While the macro-economic environment continues to remain uncertain, there is higher degree of confidence at the micro level.”

According to industry body Nasscom, the Indian IT industry is estimated to have added 90,000 jobs during FY’10, taking the workforce to 2.3 million professionals. With demand for workforce returning, attrition rates have also gone up. While TCS reported an attrition rate of 14.1 per cent, Infosys saw attrition rates to the tune of 17.1 per cent for the quarter ended September 30, 2010.

According to  Sunil Goel, director of GlobalHunt, ” During the recession period in 2008 and 2009, many companies either did not offer salary hikes and some went in for compensation cut. Now with demand for IT services returning to the market, companies are ramping up headcount and offering good packages to meet the demand.”

Also, most companies hired minimally from campuses last year since clients across major markets like the US and the Europe were in recession and were cutting down on IT spends. However, campus hiring is set to pick up after the lag experienced during the slowdown. The country’s top software exporter, Tata Consultancy Services , intends to step up the number of offers made to students on campus to 30,000 this year from about 20,000 last year as demand for IT and back office services bounces back, said Ajoy Mukherjee, global head (HR), TCS.

Most companies hired minimally from campuses last year because their major markets were in recession and clients were cutting down on tech spends. TCS, for instance, had to increase its intake of freshers through off-campus drives in the second quarter to fulfil the higher demand. “Off-campus drives are for freshers, primarily for students who have already passed out. So, yes, it is a bit of a challenge to get in touch with them. Campus recruitment is the best possible way to hire because it gives you maximum throughput,” said Mr Mukherjee.

While TCS visited 370 institutes for campus hiring last year, this year it will visit more campuses and also hire more.

The company is yet to decide on whether to offer higher salaries for those recruited from campuses. “It is very difficult to say. I perceive that for the industry there may be a slight change — maybe a marginal upward revision, but I am still collecting data and our talent-acquisition team is looking at it,” said Mr Mukherjee.

Since many freshers joined the firm in the third and fourth quarters of last year, when demand started showing an uptick, TCS has decided to tweak the appraisal cycle, making freshers eligible for promotion much earlier. Normally, promotions at the junior level are annual and are based on performance and experience. This time, they will become eligible for promotion during the quarter itself if they have the requisite experience, instead of having to wait till the year end, Mr Mukherjee said. The change will take effect from this quarter.

Indian American students develop gaming application

Three Indian American students in California have developed a new game application for Apple called where users try to steer their lost rocket ship home using the gravity of planets. 

Rahul Bhatia, Akshay Narayan and Rohan Agarwal, all aged 17, began with the idea of app in June and went over brainstorming ideas and worked through the summer, Oakland Tribune, a local newspaper, reported.

The app, called Galactic Odyssey, was sent to Apple a week and half ago and it became available on Monday. The app is priced at 99 cents and can be downloaded from Apple.

The trio plan to come up with contests on the game, to help the app popularise. They also plan on launching a sequel to the game app.

Pete Murchison, Principal, Irvington High School in Oakland, California where the trio study was quoted as saying in Oakland Tribune, “This is unbelievably difficult.

“They (Apple) get a gazillion of these applications, and for these kids to do it, it’s absolutely amazing. Now they’re dealing with the biggest, most powerful company in the world.”

The three study computer science and AP physics in school. They used physics concepts they learn in class to build the app. However they say one doesn’t need a science background to play the game

Oxford students are known for their worst behavioral

 It seems like a long, long time when students at Britain’s top university bragged about their brains. Now, undergraduates at Oxford claim they are the “worst behaved” in Britain. 

One in three among the university students said they got so “out of their heads” on beer and wine that they urinate or vomit in public “at least” once a week.

Around three-quarters were proud of the fact that they showed unrestrained sexual behaviour “whenever they had the chance”, the Daily Mail reported.

The majority blamed the pressure of academic work and parents’ “unrealistic” expectations.

Students from eight British universities were asked which they thought had the most badly behaved students. The survey was part of a new MTV series, “The Freshers”.

Oxford topped the poll, with 87% of its students believing they deserved the title.

It was followed by Bristol, Manchester, Leicester, Leeds Metropolitan, Bournemouth and Essex.

The worst offenders were those studying medicine, law and history

An Oxford spokesman, however, said there might be a bit of exaggeration in the results.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Voldermort’s coming….He’s taken control of the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts too. The final battle is about to begin and the only way Harry Potter and his friends, Hermione and Ron, can control his growing power — and his immortality — is by destroying the Horcruxes (magical artefacts) which hold his soul. Can they find them in time? Indeed a difficult task, specially since the death-eaters are on their way and Voldermort’s evil friends are hungry for Harry’s life.

Harry Potter Review: Spot the one big difference. Hogwart’s gone. Yes, the first part of the last HP film does have the dearly beloved trio — Harry, Hermione, Ron — testing their skills, but not in the fondly familiar environs of Hogwarts. The comfort zone’s gone and with it have vanished most of the familiar fraternity. Even Ginny Weasley gets to play a two-minute scene and so does Hagrid and Snape. Vile Voldermort isn’t there for too long too, although his evil threatens to explode any moment in a film that essentially sets the stage for the final battle between the boy wizard and the bad wizard.

. Part one of The Deathly Hallows is largely a rumble before the deafening storm (Part 2) which opens in July next year. Till then, rest assured with arough ride in the English countryside — dangerous moors, marshes and unfriendly forests — as the trio go out on a mission impossible. They have to decipher strange clues and find the Horcruxes in order to destroy Voldermort’s shards of soul that lie hidden within them. Hence, the film mostly unfolds like one big adventurous camping trip that serves as a prelude to the final dhamaka.

No complaints really, other than the fact that the trip gets a little long-winded and the drama comes in fits and starts. Of course, there is a fire that rages across in the form of the surging hormone play between the pubescent protagonists. There’s Harry and Hermione who seem to be getting really close, although we know where their loyalties lie. But Ron seems to be burning with pangs of jealousy, harbours strange visions of the duo and even momentarily abandons his friends.

So who are the scene-stealers? Of course Harry is his usual bright self and displays a growing maturity as the anointed messiah of the apocalyptic world, but the film truly belongs to Hermione. She’s wise, warm, stable and nurturing and carries the mission forward with unflinching loyalty, despite the growing threat. And a special mention for Dobby, the free-spirit who can never forget a favour from his erstwhile master.

The USP of Part 1? Makes you mighty impatient for Part 2. Can’t wait, can we!

Chinese province were stumped by one question: “Are you satisfied with your sex life?”

BEIJING: Candidates taking the public service exam in a Chinese province were stumped by one question: “Are you satisfied with your sex life?” 

Many said they couldn’t understand the purpose of the personal question and wondered why they had to answer it, People’s Daily reported Friday.

“What is the relationship between my sex life and the public security job position that I applied for,” asked Wang Li, a candidate from Chengdu in Sichuan province.

Others said they had to answer the question very carefully because they feared it was connected with basic information they had submitted before.

“If I submitted the information saying I was not married and then answered that I was satisfied with my sex life, will the judges erase my name from the job list because I have had premarital sex,” asked one puzzled candidate.

Pamela Anderson will feature as a guest on the Indian version of the reality TV show “Big Brother” .

The 43-year-old model and actress lands in Mumbai on Monday night, said a spokeswoman for Colors, the television channel on which “Bigg Boss” is telecast.

The Canadian-born Anderson, a former Playboy model, found worldwide fame as a buxom lifeguard in the 1990s TV series “Baywatch”.

“It’s been a long trip from LA to come and visit you here, but I am very excited to be in India and to meet the ‘Bigg Boss’ house mates,” Anderson was quoted as saying in a release.

“Actually it’s my first visit so I hope I will be able to get some impressions of the country during my stay.”

Anderson is likely to be in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house on the outskirts of Mumbai for less than a week, the Colors spokeswoman said. She had a similar stint in the Australian Big Brother show in 2008.

“Big Brother”, in which the public votes to evict contestants from a house where they are continuously filmed by surveillance cameras, is a pioneer in the reality TV genre with versions all over the world.

Contestants spend several days cooped-up in a specially-designed house under 24-hour surveillance, with no access to telephones or television. Each week, one of them is voted out.

The British series was at the centre of a broadcasting scandal in 2007, when contestant Jade Goody was accused of racist bullying of Indian housemate and eventual winner Shilpa Shetty, prompting tens of thousands of complaints.

“Bigg Boss” is in its fourth season in India and this year the line-up of celebrity contestants includes a former bandit.

Hi Friends,

I am ayush , pursuing my master degree and also working from home. Most of us are unaware of market and trend going on in the market when we pass out from school, Some of  Educational institute takes advantage of this unawareness, they give fake guarantees of job with hidden terms and conditions.

They say they give you 100%  job guarantee, after the so and so course you will see your self working in some place. The fact is they are right they provide you job accordingly  and most of the time according to your capability they provide you. But this is the half truth, The second part of the truth is that, the job they provide is of very basic in nature that you get such job  just after graduation or even after your school, with the help of any consultancy or just by forwarding your resume.

example clearing above statement :- You are doing some IT course they will provide you job in call center. What IT course do you need for a call center, you just need to know how to speak  and you can get it yourself ,  no need to go for any course.

Q. So why don’t any body challenge them, for not providing you proper job. ???

Hmm.. nice question.

reason:- you pay them handsome amount of money for the course and you are afraid that your job is on their hand you don’t argue with them.  Most of the time in the middle of  the course itself you are aware they won’t do any good to you, but again same money factor, already paid a big amount can’t leave now.

ya  i know i have not answered yet . The answer of above question is, they give you basic knowledge and they send you to interview according to your skill. But mostly they do not do any effort to develop your skill, so after the course you know by yourself, you don’t know anything and whatever they are providing is ok. But fact is in such institute they them self do not teach you properly to develop your skill. They will talk to you nicely in whole course time twice, “Firstly when when you take admission”, “Secondly when you ask for job”. They will convince you that you don’t know anything its all because of your incapability and whatever we are  doing for you is our generosity i.e. whatever job we are providing is just because we promised you else you even do not deserve this.

My Advice : – Do not believe in any  institute, who says they will provide you job, whatever big reputation they have. Still you want to try ask them for the last few person’s detail whom they recruited. I promise you they will give their best recruited persons name they had recruited in their past history. Never mind take their details and talk to them about the course ask them weather they seriously recruited them or he got his job himself and institute is stamping its  name on the person. Ask him should you join the course, belive me he will never advice you to join, but for your own sake give a try.

I enjoyed my hostel life very much. I thought to share with you some of my hostel tips tricks  which may help you to enjoy your hoste life.

I will mention it in problem and solution category:

problem: Can’t say no to friends, when they ask the key of your bike to take their girl friends out, inspite of petrol being so expensive..

Solution: make a habit to put only 20 rs petrol in your bike, So that they have to  put petrol and you get free petrols what left from them..” Dost to hota hi hai bajana ka liya boss”.

problem: You like a girl but no dare to  say her..

Solution: Except her tell everybody, say your friend “tumhari bhabhi hai koi buri najar nahi dalaga” follow her a bit let her notice you and then talk to her after a week time like, and talk so innocently that you never know about it “Ladka kamina hai kuch bhi phela deta hai” sometime it works, did not worked in my friends case but may be in your case it does, waisa bhi tujha kuch milna wala to hai nahi try it.

problem: Hungry at midnight (or need tea, coffee, ciggrate) ..

Solution: Best place to get this all night railway station or some big hospital cantin. Most of you know about it, this is for people who don’t know and new to the hostel.

note:(for bhilai boys you can go to sector-9 hospital you get all night tea and beaurages).

Problem: You don’t have a secrate place at pc to hide a thing, All boys have full access of your pc.

Solution : Make a hidden folde at destop itself ( how to make it?? -> make a folder-> rename it with ALT+0160->right click on it and go to properties -> customize tab -> select an invisble folder icon-> click ok). Now  you have an invisible folder you can access it, if you really know where it is.

problem: Getting bored, or don’t have any new intresting topic to send on mail, want to earn some part-time income from net or any thing such.
